Cultural 2000! A celebration of week long events sponsored by S.O.A.R. promoting        acceptance and understanding. Discrimination Awarness Day, Stereotyping Forum, Cultural Jam A mulitcultural dance party, displaying fact sheets and pictures of various places around the globe, as well as music from all around the world.

Peace Day 2000

 

A day honoring all those who lost their lives due to discrimination, predjudice and racism. Genocides, Holocausts and famous people where paid tribute too by tombstones created. Thanksgiving Food Basket This Thanksgiving S.O.A.R. with the help of the Asian American Club and Circulo Italian helped raise money and 3 food baskets where put together to feed 3 needy families in Providence. Adopt a Family Once again with the help of the Asian American Club and Circulo Italiano we were able to adopt an unknown 2 year old from Providence through the Adopt a Family programme for christmas and we were able bring a little Christmas cheer to a 2 year old boy and his family. Guest Speaker Dr. Lewis Dodley Through generous co-sponsorhip of several departments and mulitcultural clubs we were able to have Dr. Lews Dodley give an interactive workshop to the campus. Students who attended learned how to break down gender barriers which teach us to have preconcieved notions the very similar to those which lead to racism and ignorance.
