1970 Oldsmobile
Cutlass Supreme SX- Engine

This car was originally equipped with the standard engine on an early-production 1970 Cutlass Supreme SX: a high-compression (10.25:1 ) 320hp 2-bbl 455 (code L-31) with dual-exhausts. I added a factory 1970 4-bbl intake and Quadrajet carburetor when I bought the car in 1983, which made the engine equivalent to the standard engine in the late-1970 production run: a 365hp 4-bbl 455 from the full-size Delta88's and the 98's (code L-33). The original block and heads currently await a full-rebuild, while a big-valve 375hp 4-bbl 455 from a 1968 Toronado powers the SX.
