Tips for "Teachers"
You are no longer the
teacher:
at least in the conventional sense of the word.
What are you then?
- a learner
- a resource
- a team member
- a peer
Learn to Learn as the students do.
What will be covered in class?
- what do the students want?
- what interest them?
- how can their interests be related to the curriculum?
How will you grade?
- leave it up to the students (within reason)
- let them evaluate each other: peer pressure doesn't always have to be negative
Most importantly, let go of your control. Trust the students to take control of their education. They
will respect you for it.
