Every year Friars club gets fired up for its visiting alumni. Members, usually graduates from the past five years, return to celebrate their friar bond in a three day affair. Although it is a time of nostalgia, the current clubs Alumni Committee makes sure there is sufficient entertainment for its returning members. A common weekend is kicked off on a Friday evening in the on-campus bar, McPhails. The venue is equipped with a live band, full bar, and snacks. Saturday night, dinner is catered to welcome alumni and share a meal with them. The weekend ends with an alumni verses current club basketball game in Mullaney Gym on Sunday morning. Friars Club alumni weekend is a time for old brothers and sisters to reconnect while also creating new bonds with the current club. Get fired up! |

The SAN Committee plans all aspects of Senior Appreciation Night, which traditionally takes place during the latter half of the Spring semester. The event celebrates the accomplishments of the senior class during their time as Friars Club members. These contributions include the many hours of service and dedication to the College leading tours as well as staffing events such as hockey games, alumni functions, and commencement exercises. As the oldest members, the seniors are also recognized for supporting the mission and membership of the Friars Club as team captains. Senior Appreciation Night is an opportunity for the Club to give back to our seniors as they come together to relive their fondest memories as Friars. |

Friars Club Family Night generally happens in the month of October. Seeing as our responsibilities as a club are to work Freshman and Upper Classman Family Weekends, we choose to have our own as well! This is a special night when all of our family members can get together. The night starts with mass at St. Dominics Chapel, followed by a reception in McPhails and then a nice dinner catered by our lovely Providence College Staff. It is an opportunity for us to introduce the entire club to our families and allow them to meet our second family, our Friar Family. Responsibilities of the Family Night Committee include sending out invitations, reserving McPhails and a room for dinner, working closely with Sodexho to create a menu and order food and drinks, creating a slideshow to introduce the club members, ordering centerpieces, and buying a gift to give everyone at the end of the night. Because the event takes place in October, tasks will start right away and responsibility is heavy during the first semester of school. It is an absolute honor to work on such a committee and to plan such a special night for the club members and their families! |

The main task of the Elections Committee is to organize the elections process by which the Friars Club elects new members. There are four separate elections for freshman, sophomores, juniors, and finally for the new executive board. The Elections Committee must reserve space on campus using Resource 25 for the individual coffeehouses, interview days, and the election days themselves for each election. The Elections Committee is also responsible for organizing all of the elections materials, such as candidates applications, note-taking pamphlets used during the elections, as well as rejection letters. In addition, the Elections Committee also advertises and promotes the elections by creating posters to be displayed at various points on campus, creating flyers to be distributed in the residence halls, and organizing recruitment teams which go to the residence halls in order to inform students of the upcoming elections. The Elections Committee is also responsible for providing refreshments at the elections. |

BBC is responsible for maintaining the functionality of the Friars Club Office. Since the Office serves as a social center and place to receive updates and information regarding the various involvements of Friars Club, BBC facilitates these functions by designing and designating a purposeful space in which to do these things. BBC consults with the Executive Board to identify any needs that the Club may have, and works to fulfill these needs. The Office currently houses a space to sign up for tours, to sign up for various community service activities, to post any media regarding current PC or Friars club events, and to post any messages the Executive Board may deem useful. |

Friar Development Committee primary job is to connect alumni to the current club. FDC sends out newsletters, maintains the club website, works with alumni and Bob Ferreira, and updates the club database. FDC is currently working to connect with former Friars alumni who have limited contact with the club. The club records are constantly being updated to provide the club with up-to-date information on its former members. Members of FDC love hearing from alumni hearing stories of their days as members of the Friars Club. |
