CLARIFICATION: I am not sure if I was explicit about why we weren't going to go through the example at the end of the Slides for Chapter one. there... is a typo on the problem that may confuse you . DON'T follow through and I will provide you with a new clean version :)
Solution to Quiz 1 is posted under Quizzes Tab
Section 3: Hold onto the WSJ article that I passed out on Friday. My other sections haven't gotten it yet. You are going to be asked to write out responses to a series of questions. The questions will center around terms (do you know what the terms mean in the article?) and how it relates to what we have been talking about in class. We are also going to tie this into an upcoming discussion about Sarbanes-Oxley so it may be a bit before we use it.
There is an
article called "New footnote item in 10-ks can flag woes at companies" in
today's (Saturday, Sept 30) that you are responsible for reading & understanding
for next week's quizzes. And as always, you are responsible for reading at
least the front page of each of the WSJ.
BTW - this is a great article to on which to base a lab quiz to tie in the EDGAR
material from last week! HINT HINT
